Introduction

Tungsten Spheres is a subsidiary of Tungsten Heavy Powder, Inc., which manufactures a unique type of very heavy pure tungsten powder.

The spheres, balls and cubes are manufactured offshore, mainly in Taiwan, Korea and China. Our staff in the United States directs each order to the most appropriate manufacturing facility for this specific product. We are in contact with these plants on a daily basis and can provide you, the customer, with up-to-the-minute progress and status reports.

All these manufacturing facilities have the most stringent quality control departments. Furthermore, each delivery includes its own inspection certificate.

Environmentally Friendly

In many cases, our products are used to replace items, which have previously been manufactured from Lead. By being able to supply lead-free replacement products, we hope to contribute to a safer and more environmentally-friendly world.

Lead is ranked at the top of the U.S. Government's 2005 Top 20 Hazardous Substances Priority List, second only to Arsenic. As such, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has set very restrictive threshold limits for concentrations in air, soil, water and vegetation. Lead is also under strict limitations in unleaded gasoline, paint, and general exposure in workplaces.

Tungsten is an ideal material for lead replacement applications as it has an even higher density than lead. However, due to its extremely high melting temperature, molding tungsten into a shape is complex and costly. Still, tungsten can be formed into solids through a process called sintering. This is where tungsten and other metal powders are pressed into shape and bound in a special furnace.
