We supply both tungsten spheres with a “diameter parallel band” in the ‘as sintered’ condition as well as tungsten balls in fully-machined, ground and polished conditions.

Tungsten spheres, balls and cubes are the ideal medium for various radiation protection applications, such as medical shielding. By positioning these spheres and cubes in cavities, and filling the voids with Technon^® Powder, one could achieve extremely high cavity densities at relatively low costs. Technon^® is a new type of spheroidal particle tungsten powder, providing the highest bulk density of any tungsten powder. Its spheroidal shape also offers an excellent flow rate, making it the ideal powder for this application.

As tungsten is an environmentally friendly material, it is by far the most preferred alternative to lead. This matrix of tungsten spheres or tungsten cubes with Technon^® tungsten powder, is the latest innovation in lead replacement applications for medical shielding.
